Plan B

Life is about to change come Monday.  Long story short, we decided that I will stay home with Brady again.  It was a tough decision, but we are confident that it is the best choice for our family right now.  I'm looking forward to settling into the old routine again, and you can look forward to more regular blog updates!

It is possible that Brady may have taken his first steps tonight.  It was hard to tell, because he sort of fell into my lap, but I am fairly certain that he took 2-3 solid steps beforehand.  Of course he would not try it again no matter how much I begged, pleaded, or cheered.  We'll see.  One thing I've learned is that you cannot make Brady do anything he does not want to, haha.

We got a surprise last minute visit from Nana and Aunt Casey this evening.  I had a minor surgery on Wednesday, so they came to check on me and bring us dinner from my favorite WV restaurant.  Brady was very excited to see them and was crawling all over the place showing them his favorite toys and books.  We hope to make it to WV and WI next month so he can see the rest of the family as well.

Labor Day Weekend

It was the first long weekend since I returned to work, and we really made it count!  We had a house full of family on Saturday- Dad, Lyla, Mammaw, Mom, Steve, and Casey all came for a visit.  It was fantastic to see almost the whole family without having to drive anywhere!  Dad drove a U-haul with my grandma's dining room set, so thanks to her we have one less empty room!

Casey stayed with us for the rest of the weekend.  Although the weather didn't exactly cooperate with our plans to hit the pool, we made the best of it anyway.  We did a little shopping, watched some football (which also was impacted by the rain- what is up with the lightning delays this year?), and went to the park.

Today it's back to the grindstone, and it is sure to be a long "short" week with Pete out of town.  I think my next four day weekend is Columbus Day, let the countdown begin!
