New Ride

We bought a new car last week! It is a 2010 Honda CR-V. It's a lot like my Civic, only bigger. It's super-nice, with a lot of extra features I didn't have before. And my brother is going to take the Civic, so I can rest assured that she's going to a good home!

A couple of pictures

I wanted to post a couple pictures of what we've been up to lately. I signed up for the Cherry Blossom Festival's 10 mile race in April, so I've been running regularly again. I've coerced Pete into doing my training schedule with me, and this weekend we ran together in a 5 mile race benefiting Children's Hospital. It was Pete's first race and the longest he's ever run (not counting the military). He did great! The weather was pretty chilly, but it was a sunny day and we warmed up quickly.


We finally got our pictures back up on the walls in our family room that I painted during my Snow Break last month. Take a look!

Feeling good

I'm feeling positive today, so I figured I'd better let you know about it! February and March (so far) have been very good on the domestic adoption front. Our autobiography has gone out to three birthparents in the past four weeks! It's fantastic news that our book is being circulated so much. This is the tool that the birthparents use to choose an adoptive family. It's a book that we created that tells about our life and why we want to adopt. It includes some narration, plus a lot of pictures of us, our family, and our friends.

I try to check in with the agency once per month, which is what they recommend. It's ironic that they called me today about our book going out because I was dying to email yesterday, but it had only been two weeks since my last email! Keep your fingers crossed that one of these birthparents will be the right match for us. We are coming up on the two-year mark since we started the adoption process. I am hopeful that we won't have to wait much longer.
