Oh boy bed

We're in the process of conquering another milestone- Brady's move to a big boy bed!  Or an "oh boy bed" as he likes to call it.  Probably a more appropriate name anyway!  Brady helped Daddy take his baby bed apart and tell it bye bye for good.  He was very excited about sleeping in a big boy bed, and in fact our first night was a total success!  And then reality set in the following day...  But fast-forward to a week and a half later, and we're making good progress.  It was nothing that temporarily switching around his bedroom doorknob couldn't fix!  He's sleeping more soundly now, and his escape attempts are much less frequent.  We're really proud of our big boy!

In other firsts, Brady helped make cookies yesterday.  Suzy and Allie came over for a visit, and they are a pro-baking duo.  I'll admit I was skeptical at first about attempting to bake with two toddlers, but it was a hit!  Sure, we had some flying dough and plenty of flour on the floor, but a good time was had by all.  And even though Brady wouldn't take one bite, he asked to make cookies again last night and this morning!

Happy Halloween!

Even though it was Brady's third Halloween, it was his first time trick-or-treating last night!  We gave him the option of dressing up like a pirate or a fire fighter, and he did not hesitate to choose the fireman (or the hot pink pumpkin)!  We've been practicing our "Happy Halloweens" and "Trick-or-treats," so this big boy was ready to rock and roll.

Pete took him to a few houses on our street.  Other than trying to take the entire candy dish from one neighbor, he did great!  Of course Brady wouldn't eat the candy even if we wanted him to, but I bet Pete and I can think of something to do with it.

Sure Mommy, I'll pose for your picture. But I won't like it.

We almost had our own little Stop, Drop, and Roll moment.

Show time

We dump the candy out...

And we put it back in.  Repeat.  Over and over.  Probably his favorite part!
