Grand slam

The summer of grandparents wrapped up last week when Pete's mom and stepdad came in for a visit.  It was a fun week with a nice balance of sight-seeing and just hanging out.  You know the boys loved having them here, and of course we did too!  Brady saw an airplane today and yelled "Goodbye Grandpa JT!  Goodbye Grandma Loraine!"  He then told me he wanted to fly to see them.  We're working on it!

Nathan delivered as promised, and learned to crawl right in front of Grandma and Grandpa.  We're so proud of him!  Now he is all over the place, climbing into and over things, and trying to pull himself up to standing.  Unfortunately that also means he's gotten a few bruises this week too!  In addition to the crawling, he also figured out how to get himself into a sitting position.  What a busy week he's had!  I think teeth will be next, stay tuned.

The crawler in action!

He's pretty pleased with himself

Grandma's pretty proud, too

We visited the Air & Space Museum, a Brady favorite

And the National Zoo

Brady's getting inked

Check me out! It's a shark. "Just like Thomas," he says! In case you have trouble with that leap, he has a book called "Thomas and the Shark."

The sea lions are a favorite this time, too

Nap time for Nathan. Hold on tight!

Back at our ice-cold neighborhood pool

Brady, Grandpa, and I went to see Brady's first official movie- "Planes." He loved it!

Pete, Brady, and the grandparents tried out a new indoor playground

I hear Brady LOVED the ball pit

Can you find him?

Nathan probably does make an excellent pillow.

Here I am running a 10K (it wasn't nearly as fun as this picture would lead you to believe). I've been training for a half-marathon in September- great exercise and even better stress-relief!

We've been working on some new faces. This one is his mad face. Scary.

This guy is all happy faces.

Cutest Costco shopping cart ever.

7 months old and Aunt Casey's visit

Casey came home with us from the beach and stayed for a week (her annual No Parents Party).  Who's down with No P.P.?  Yeah you know me.  This year's party did not disappoint.

Sharing in the celebrations was Nathan, our newly-minted 7 month old!  Stats?  Don't have 'em.  I'm lucky to get a shower daily, who am I kidding.  He's big and he's heavy.  Looks healthy.  Go Nathan!  Love you buddy.  I promise to get started on your baby book right away.

He is REALLY close to crawling, though.  He gets up on his arms and knees, rocks, and has taken a few "steps" with his arms before he drops to his tummy and army crawls.  I think it's going to be any day now.  I told him to wait until Saturday when Grandma Loraine and Grandpa JT get here.  He's a pretty good boy so I think he'll listen.

Handsome little chub

Giddy up! Casey pulled out all her best day care entertainment for Brady this visit.

On our way to a children's Theater in the Woods. In case you don't recognize it, it's his trademark sad face.

Puppet show with Suzy and Allie

Someone hijacked my camera

What's a visit without a trip to the animal park?

Brady was all about the sheep this time

He's so excited he's actually taking flight

Here piggy-piggy

Nathan thought the lorikeets cackling were HILARIOUS

Here peacock-peacock

A trip to the neighborhood pool (which I've been hiding from Brady all summer since there's no way I can handle both boys there on my own)!

Seven months old today

And teething up a storm

Yeah, that's better

Sweet cheeks

Brady requested the park on Casey's last day

It was Nathan's first time in a toddler swing

Hey there handsome!
Gimme some sugar, baby.

Thanks, Brady. Don't mind if I do.
