Hello, Autumn

Nathan is so helpful- he jumps right in with any chore :)

Some (brief) post-nap cartoon snuggling

Oh I've got some marker on my face?

Right here?

They boys and I went on a "scavenger hunt," AKA "nobody napped and Daddy doesn't get home for an hour so lets get out of this house before we lose it"

I've been trying to sneak in and get a picture of Nathan napping, but he pops right up as soon as I open the door.

We had a really warm day last week so we went for a walk around the pond.

The leaves weren't changing very much yet, but we did find some other colors.

Brady and I made ghosts to hang from our tree

Pretty scary, eh?

Another walk, another photo shoot ;)

I told Nathan I wanted to see his eyes

He showed me his nose for good measure

There we go

Catch up

September was a crazy month around here! I started working part-time (evenings and weekends), so there hasn't been much time for picture taking a blog updating... But we're starting to adjust now.  Here's what we've been up to!

Nathan (and Maggie) have been enjoying the increase in attention while Brady is off at preschool.

It occurred to me that I have not officially mentioned my big plans here on the blog. A few months ago I started training for my very first marathon (26.2 miles)! I am signed up for the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington DC on Oct. 26th, and I am running for a worthy charity, the Organization for Autism Research.  You can read more about it here and/or donate to my fundraising efforts:

I've made it to 20 miles, and now I'm enjoying what's called "the taper," a period of relative rest before the big day. Wish me luck!

This is some of my running club, Moms Run This Town, before our Saturday morning group run. They are an awesome group of gals to run with!

Brady has a serious love of frisbees right now, so when I saw that The Frisbee Guy was coming to town, we put it right on our calendar!

Brady cracked up during the ENTIRE show. Pretty sure he was the guy's biggest fan. Ever.

I had a bad stomach flu for about a week, and poor Nathan caught it too. The good cuddles I got more than made up for all the times I got vomited on.

Concentration at its finest

Brady and I at the Dulles Day 5K on the Runway

Yes, it was literally on a runway. I couldn't resist taking Brady on this run!

We finished with a quick peek at the Air and Space Museum
Later that afternoon, I joined a team for the annual plane pull, a big fundraiser for Special Olympics. We were called "Just Plane Mamas," and although we certainly weren't the fastest pullers, we did win the award for Most Enthusiastic out of about 70 teams!

Here's the whole team, posing in front of the plane we pulled.

Our first fall festival of the season!

Racing ducks

Car painting is much better than finger painting.

Poor sad baby getting his hair cut. He was so scared he didn't move.

He sure is handsome, though!
