We decided to go to a local farm park for their first annual Easter egg hunt. We hoped it wouldn't be as crowded as some of the others we've been to, and it did not disappoint. It was just our speed, and we got to go on a hay ride and see some baby animals up close!

| These giant bouncing pillows are a fabulous invention! |
| We even got to see the big bunny (in an even bigger chair). |
| Nathan voted "No this!" |
| But he was quite comfortable manning the s'mores station |
| Baby guinea fowl (I think) |
We had a very fun surprise over Easter weekend. PopPop, Grandma, and the two Uncles D bravely offered to take the boys for the night. They came to get them on Friday and I headed straight to the paint store (where else?). There are a million painting projects that I want to do around the house, but somehow we can never make time for. I decided to tackle the office.
| Here's the 'Before.' It's a goldish color, and the ceiling was painted the same. |
| I painted the ceiling white and the walls grey. I love the change! But now I want to paint the rest of the house to match. |
| I also tackled a couple smaller paint jobs. Front door 'Before' |

We were really excited to get the boys back on Saturday, and we celebrated by going out to eat at a fun diner downtown.
| The boys sure missed their daddy. |
| Nathan drank his milkshake like a champ. |
| But he decided this way would be much more efficient. |
| Exhaustion set in on the way home. Misery loves company, you know. |
| On Easter morning I went for a run while the boys woke up and found their baskets. |
| We didn't get around to coloring eggs until Easter Sunday. What can I say, we've been busy. |
| Nathan thought it was the greatest thing ever. |
Finally, the BIG painting project that's been happening: our exterior trim! Our wood trim has been in need of painting for a while, and we had a lot of wood rot that needed repairing/replacing. I've never been crazy about the color of the trim, so I chose a new color a couple of shades lighter. We are super happy about the way it turned out!

You'll also notice that we had the two big holly trees trimmed and the lollipop-looking bushes by the front door cut down. Of course the green grass and spring plants also make the house look much better. Unfortunately we just discovered that we have a large dying ash tree in the front yard. I guess it's always something...
