Just another fun-filled week

We are leaving for the beach on Sunday, so I figured I'd better empty the memory card in preparation for all the great pictures I'm sure to take!  Or maybe I'm procrastinating because I don't want to pack.  Either way, look what a fun week we've had!

Pre-haircut playground trip

Yeah, this lasted for about 3 seconds before Brady was trying to push Nathan out

Mall playground post-haircut
Brady is learning to use a tricycle in PT/OT- the arm crank really helps him pedal. Go Brady go!

What a cool guy

My running partner (he's smiling because he thinks it's funny when I'm gasping for air)!

The pack & play is really useful now because even though he can't crawl yet, Nathan rolls wherever he wants to go.

We went to a magic show on Wednesday. Brady thought there could be a little less conversation and a little more action, so we left early. Luckily it wasn't a total bust- they had a train to ride! And despite Mr. Serious Face, he really does love it.  Really.

See, here's his fake smile to prove it!

And they had balloons! I guess it was a success after all.

Back home for our daily dose of swing set

Brady, Nathan, and I are doing a weekly music class. They love it, and it's great that Brady finally wants to hear some songs that aren't cartoon theme songs!

Brady's favorite part is when Ms. Teresa gets out the instruments. He's great at bringing Nathan a few.

Nathan was playing on the floor while I cleaned up the kitchen. He started crying, so I ran in and panicked when I saw "blood" on his head. Yep, we had carrots for lunch.

Don't you wish you woke up this happy?

Play doh sad faces

Mommy, I think there's still some in the jar.

Got it!

Brady told me he wanted "chicken cheese" over and over the other day. I finally led him to the refrigerator and asked him to show me what he was talking about.

A grand time

Every two weeks is evidently not often enough to update the blog these days.  Once again I've got a ton of pictures to share- we are having a great time!

Pete's dad Raul and stepmom Becky came to visit us two weeks ago.  We were really excited to have them- it was their first time seeing our "new" house, and most importantly meeting Nathan!

Between traffic and nap schedules, we decided to keep it low-key and see some of the closer attractions.  Unfortunately it rained almost every day they were here, but at least they were able to get out between storms.  We had a fantastic time visiting with them, and hopefully it won't be too long before we see them again.

After they left we got to have a quick visit from Gayle's dad, stepmom, and brothers as they made their way home from Boston & NYC.  It sure seemed quiet around here once all the family was gone!  Relatively speaking, of course.

Last week we finally made it to the National Zoo!  We've lived here for nine years, and it's one of those places that's been on our list but we've just not made the time for.  Well the perfect opportunity presented itself when our pals Suzy and Allie said they were making the trip.  The only problem?  It was 100 degrees that day.  But a good time was had by all!

A visit to the farm

Wagon ride to the blueberry fields

This boy is a blueberry picking pro now.

Checking out the funky chicken

Brady was the only one on the jumping pillow. Which would be awesome except he was too light to bounce much!

Daddy to the rescue once again

Making friends with an escapee

The obligatory shot to show Nathan and I were there too!

Grandpas are so fun! Brady and Nathan are blessed to have such great ones.

Grandmas, too!

Brady wanted to show off the Air and Space Museum before they went back home to WI

Nathan started fruits and veggies. First up- sweet potatoes! He's since had apples and peas, too. Judging by the way he gobbles them up, I'd say he's a fan.

Brady has this desperate obsession to help vacuum, even when it's the leaf blower. Fortunately he's happy to just hold on to the strap.

Love his goofy faces

Ready to see some animals! This lovely shot was taken before we all melted (including Brady's cake pop).

Catching up. At least Allie is- Brady is mostly a listener ;)

It was so hot it sometimes took all three of us to push the stroller!

Perfect day for a splash in the fountains

Poor Nathan's face was as red as a beet, so I thought he'd like to cool off his toes too.

A very appropriate statue for a picture of the brothers

They even had farm animals, which you know are Brady's favorite!

Panda, schmanda. Check out this cow!

Cutest parade ever. Until Brady turned it into bumper trikes...

As Mickey Mouse says, "We're going to rock and ride and rally today!"

Who can jump the highest?

These boys love to swing

Fun with selfies

Sharing (we're working on it)

Just had to throw in a shot of my hydrangea. It's so pretty right now!

I guess the belt will keep him from climbing out, but not from rolling over! Changing his diaper has become quite a challenge- he is the wiggliest worm I know.
