This year has been a big one for growing. Brady is finally
starting to eat more variety, and he will try new things without too much nagging.
His favorite food is macaroni and cheese (specifically, the Sponge Bob kind),
with McDonald’s coming in a close second. But don’t worry, he likes healthy
food too- he eats a ton of fruit. He’s in the process of giving up his nap, and
he’s (mostly) potty trained!
He had his checkup, and he is 42” tall and
weighs 36 pounds. Everything looks healthy. He’s still on the small side, but
he more than makes up for that in spunk!
He has been really interested in learning to read lately,
and is doing great so far. He has an incredible memory when it comes to his
books, so he’s memorizing words. He has really surprised me lately when we get
a new book and he can read most of the pages. He also is very gifted when it
comes to numbers and math. We are so proud of him.
Brady still has endless amounts of energy, and can be pretty
impulsive at times. But he is so fun and sweet, and he has never met a stranger
he couldn’t charm.
We are so proud of Brady every day as he is growing into
a sweet, funny, handsome little guy. We know how lucky we are to be his family,
and we will be forever grateful.
Brady's fifth birthday fell on a school day this year, so we did our best to make it as special as possible. I put up a "Happy Birthday" banner in the kitchen for him to see when he woke up, and when he saw it, he asked where all the other decorations where, haha. I guess next year I'll know to go big. Not to worry though, Nathan and I went to get balloons while he was at preschool.

| Look at that! A special balloon waiting at the bus stop for him. |
 |
| And then more balloons were delivered from Aunt Mary Gay and Uncle Frankie, so we were covered. |
 |
| And this is the face of a balloon popping. |
 |
| Brady requested a monster truck cake this year. Not my best work, but I figured Grave Digger wouldn't mind this mess. |
 |
| This child eats cake like an animal. |
 |
| Brady enjoyed opening a few presents before bed. |
 |
| We got him his first iPod. He's loved it ever since! |
The following weekend we had his party at an indoor playground. There were a ton of things to do- a huge climbing structure, play kitchen, train and lego tables, and even an area for the littlest friends. We had the whole place to ourselves, so it was really fantastic!
