WV and the fall farm tour

What a fun couple of weekends we've had (excluding the Mountaineers' embarrassing losses, of course)!  Last weekend we went to WV to visit with the family.  The weather was nice, which was a good thing since all Brady wants to do these days is go outside!  He got to visit with everyone and show of his new language skills.  He has really come a long way since preschool started, especially with the phrase (demand!) "I want..."  If you're lucky sometimes he'll throw a please ("peas") on the end.  He's also doing great with his names, letters, colors, and counting.  But if you ask him if he's a girl or a boy, he'll argue all night that he's a girl!

One of the things Brady has been talking about a lot lately are apple trees, so we decided to take him to an orchard this weekend.  We told him what we were doing this morning and he got very excited.  But when I drove up and the drive was barricaded I got a little nervous.  Fortunately I didn't have to pull a Chevy Chase at Wally World- they just opened a few minutes late.  Brady loved the trek through the woods to get to the apple trees, and got really excited once he saw all the apples.  We picked a few, and got a gallon of fresh cider to go.

Our next stop was to a pumpkin farm.  We took a quick hayride, and then set Brady loose among the pumpkins.  His tastes leaned toward the green or the rotten ones, but nevertheless we managed to get two nice ones for our front steps.
