The boys and I joined the local police department for National Night Out. There was food, police vehicles, and the barrel train! McGruff the Crime Dog was handing out badges, but Nathan was completely terrified. Even Brady was a little uneasy, but he did at least take the badge. ;)

The cupcakes definitely helped soothe the trauma.

Brady buried in his pillow pile
Kim-marie very generously gave the boys this awesome battery-powered jeep. It's in great shape and the boys have been in love with it even before we let them know it can go! It's vintage from her babies (the oldest is about to enter his senior year of high school).

The determined look on Brady's face frightened me just a little.

He actually was pretty good behind the wheel!
Brady and I had signed up for a Super Moon viewing hike at a nearby historic house and gardens. Sadly, it was a very cloudy evening so there was nothing to view from the meadow. But we still had fun on our little nature hike- Brady is quite the outdoorsman. I can't wait to take him camping one day!

We finally got a red tomato, hooray!

This guy is a goof.
