Happy Easter... and lots of other fun things

In addition to soccer, Brady also started swim lessons this month.  It's his first "big boy" swim class without a parent in the water.  To be honest I was fully prepared to withdraw him after the first week, but he's doing pretty well without us.  Miss Kim is great- she's young and full of energy, so she does a good job of keeping his attention.

He may be the least focused, but he is the best jumper. No fear!

As we were walking to the van after swimming, we saw a fire truck, ambulance, and rescue truck parked outside.  Our volunteer fire department has always been awesome with kid-friendly events, and they are just as fantastic when you randomly bump into them on their way to the gym.  When they saw Brady jumping excitedly as they parked the truck, they brought over a fire hat and offered to let him climb into the back of the truck (sadly for me, he declined). 

The cherry blossoms are blooming, and flowers make us happy!

Just a little rainy day fun playing in the gutter.

We jumped at the chance to have a Spring Break play date with Suzy and Allie.  We headed to the park for a chilly but exciting morning.

I wish I could remember exactly what Brady said before hugging Nathan and Allie, but it was something along the lines of "awww, good friends"

Here's a little Easter Bunny trauma to commemorate the season.

Sweet Maggie loves to snuggle. She gets to spend a few minutes in bed before being demoted to the floor. ;)

We're only "borrowing" them for a short time while they are small.

Brady and Allie signed up for their first race- a Hippity Hop Fun Run at a local park.  They had some piggy-back aid periodically throughout the race, but all in all I'd say it was a success!

There was an Easter egg hunt following the race. It was not nearly as challenging.

Later that evening, we invited Allie and her parents over for a fun night of pizza-making, scooter-riding, and a glow-in-the-dark Easter egg hunt!

Allie and Brady did a super-fabulous trick. They started on opposite sides of the cul-de-sac,

And crossed in the middle,

Narrowly missing one another. Amazing!

Finally it was dark-ish enough for our Easter egg hunt.

On Easter morning the boys each had two Easter baskets waiting for them- one from the Easter Bunny, and one from Grandma Loraine and Grandpa JT.

Brady likes to take time every day to hold all of the chicks.  He named them Dusty, El Chupacabra, Ripslinger, and Small Dusty.

 

We even squeezed in a trip to the circus.  Why is it that spring break is never really restful?
