Lunch

Well, we survived! Our lunch with the birthmother went well. It was of course awkward at times, and we were all nervous, but overall I'm very happy with how the meeting went. She is very sweet, and it seems like she has been putting a lot of thought into this process.

We are going to meet her at the hospital on Wednesday morning at 6 am. The social worker is going to call the hospital ahead of time to let them know about the adoption situation. Hopefully the hospital will be open to us being there, and they may even have a room that we can use to spend time with the baby. Evidently some hospitals are more adoption-friendly than others, so it all depends.

Today Pete is going to do a little work, and I'll probably shop or hang around the pool. We will probably go see a move tonight (since that is the #1 thing people tell us to do when they hear we are soon to be parents)!

Tomorrow we are planning on going to a Disney park, either Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios. Then we will move to a city closer to the hospital. It's starting to feel more real now!

  2. I do not know why she wouldn't love you both. You are down to earth, happy together, friendly, confident, and will be great parents. I'm sure she could see that when she met you and is confident that she has made the right decision! I'm sure the scarf helped. haha.
Enjoy the movie and get some sleep tonight. Enjoy every day as you move closer to the big one! I hope the hospital is cooperative and you get to share in as much as possible. I am so excited for you!!!
